THE TUDORS’: SEXY SIDE OF HISTORY

Get ready for another round of bodice ripping and head chopping — “The Tudors” is back for a second season. Critics claim that Showtime’s sexed-up take on Henry VIII is more like a soap opera with a “Desperate Monarchs” quality than a documentary. The show begins with Henry VIII, played by Scottish actor Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, finding fault in his first wife due to her inability to produce an heir. Thus begins an insatiable lust for women that will, by the end of the monarch’s reign, lead to six marriages. One of the most powerful temptresses to woo the king from his marital vows is Anne Boleyn, played by Natalie Dormer, who would become Henry VIII’s second wife.
